“Resilient” is the theme for this year’s Ministers’ Wives Luncheon, hosted by Conference President Jenny Binkley. The inspiration for the theme is the struggle and loss suffered by many over the last few years due to the pandemic. Binkley said her prayer for this event is “that we will be encouraged and strengthened through the word of God and fellowship together.”
She is the wife of Carlton Binkley, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur.
Jacki C. King, a Bible teacher, author, ministry leader, and pastor’s wife, is the event’s keynote speaker. Binkley described King as “a pastor’s wife who is walking through the same challenges that the rest of us are.” King’s book is The Calling of Eve: How Women of the Bible Inspire the Women of the Church.
King is a Texas native now living in Central Arkansas with her husband, Josh, and their three boys. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Ministry to Women from Criswell College and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Southwestern Seminary.
The luncheon will be held November 2 at Metro Community Church. The program will run from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with lunch starting at 11 a.m.
