Springfield | Kevin Alvarez joins the IBSA staff as Central Region Consultant as of June 15.
As a regional consultant, Alvarez will travel within his designated region to encourage local churches, provide resources, training, and support, and help churches discover and accomplish their next steps in sharing the Gospel.
The Central Region includes Bay Creek, Central, East Central, Heartland Network, Kaskaskia, Louisville, Macoupin, Rehoboth, Sandy Creek, and Westfield Associations.
His addition alongside Chris Nolin (Northern), Bryan Price (Chicago), Jonathan Peters (Metro East), and Bob Dickerson (Southern) completes the roster of regional consultants serving the state.
Alvarez has served Celebration Community Church in Pana for the past three years, and will continue in that role, while ministering to churches and pastors in central Illinois in a part-time capacity.
“Kevin has served our Health Team as a Pathfinder and revitalization coach for the past two years,” said IBSA Associate Executive Director Mark Emerson. “He is extremely creative and has a heart for pastors.”
Alvarez earned a D.Min in church revitalization from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds an M.Div. from The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas, and a Bachelors degree in Christian Leadership and an Associate degree in Biblical Studies, both from The College of Biblical Studies in Houston.
He and his wife, Yvette, have three adult daughters: Cassandra, Gabriela, and Madison.
