Updated April 1, 2026 | Waldo has nothing on Scott Foshie. The new IBSA Executive Director is traveling Illinois, wedging listening sessions with pastors and associational leaders into a busy onboarding schedule.

Quad Cities Baptist Association
“At every meeting, I have been humbled by the love and support for our Illinois Baptist Team,” Foshie said. He is well known after eight years leading church revitalization for Illinois. Since his election, Foshie has met with leaders in the Quad Cities, Metro East, Macoupin, Three Rivers, and Saline Associations—so far.
“I am deeply encouraged by the hunger for revival and desire to impact people’s lives with the gospel that I’m hearing about everywhere I go,” Foshie said. “Illinois Baptists are seeking God to bring a new season of thriving in Jesus through our churches and shared missions efforts.”
He also shares openly about the challenges the network faces. “When I share that Cooperative Program giving has declined 20% since 2019 and needs to make a comeback, I’ve had multiple pastors and laypeople tell me that they want to be a part of a new season of growing gospel impact through Illinois Baptists.”

Saline Baptist Association
Foshie joined pastors from Quad Cities Area Baptist Association for lunch in December. In February he met Saline Baptist Association leaders who surrounded him with prayer. The team at Macoupin Baptist Association also surrounded him with prayer during a listening meeting in Carlinville and they discussed a new evangelism strategy.
Foshie is engaged with strategic planning and establishing new ministry plans. He will assume the office April 1. “Illinois Baptists are amazing servants of the Lord and I’m excited about the future!”
