A teacher at Red Bud High School who hid the existence of a “Gender and Sexualities Alliance” club from parents is no longer employed by the Waterloo School District, according to records obtained by Christian Post through the Freedom of Information Act. The teacher was faculty advisor for the online group, but allowed the students to name it “Bubbles” to keep parents from learning its purpose.
District 132 Superintendent Jonathan Tallman wrote to parents that the teacher is gone now and the club is inactive. “Every parent has the absolute right to know what groups and clubs their child is participating in,” he wrote. “The Administration or Board of Education will not tolerate any deliberate action to hide or keep such information from parents.”
