Pastors and church leaders from around the Metro East area gathered in Collinsville May 17 for the second Multiply Illinois Hub. These quarterly regional events are designed to encourage and equip those interested in church multiplication.
Heights Community Church, planted in 2016, hosted the gathering in their newly renovated home. With the St. Louis skyline and Gateway Arch visible on the southwestern horizon, the growing congregation now occupies space that was formerly the local Knights of Columbus Hall.
The morning included a time of worship. Speakers shared practical ways to support church planters and encouragement for personal emotional health. The event also emphasized the importance of praying for God to be at work across the state. Following worship, the men moved into three groups and prayed for churches going through revitalization, replanting, and planting processes. IBSA Church Planting Director Kevin Jones offered specific names, communities across Illinois, and situations to pray over.
The next Multiply Illinois Hub will take place May 20 at Iglesia Cristiana El Camino in Des Plaines, specifically for Hispanic churches. See www.IBSA.org/Multiply-Illinois for more information.
